Dear All,
This is my first post here I am not sure if I choose the correct place. I am sorry, I do not speak German language too good. Grins
Let me introduce myself. My Name is Jacek and on some internet forums, especially polish model railway forum you can find me as Meggido (like here). Grins I build myself models of locomotives and cars that you can see on polish rails and I am the only one in Poland who do it in 1:32 scale. It is not popular in Poland because of the price, H0 is the most popular. In my first post I will just show you some ready self build models. In further posts I will try to show you some more of what I do now and how I build them, of course if you will be interested in this. Grins
For those who will be interested and will not be able to wait for my further posts, you could find some more pictures in here:

Hello Jacek,

the models shown by you look amazing Ausruf Please show more in furture and describe a little bit how you build your models.

The pictures show at least two really outstanding and special things for all of your models: An extreme clean painting and yery good looking high detailed fan grills.

Best regards
Joachim

I would like to show you my current and latest locomotive project. I am closer to the end of it each day. Grins
First it starts with project in 3D software. I collect some documentation of a locomotive or car. It is sometimes better and more detailed, sometimes it is crap and all has to be verified. But generally it starts with this: Grins

When everything id 3D is ready then I prepare drawings for laser cutting and photo etching. Grins I get a bunch of steel and brass scrap which I have to turn into a model. So I start with additional parts manufacturing like pipes, nuts, etc. and I form steel for final soldering. Grins

Besides of steel and brass for some more tricky parts I use 3D printing. Grins

I also produce wheel sets myself with gears (gears them I buy), main gearboxes, cardan shafts and so on. But this I will show in my next post if you will be interested in this. Grins

Jacek,
please keep on posting. Your models are amazing. If possible try to explain how you made certain tricky parts.
Regards

As you could see my model is going to be driven from the central "power unit" that consists of 2 motors and main gearbox. from gearbox power will be transferred do the boggies with wheel sets via cardan shafts. As always I started with some design work. Winke

The result had to be turned into a running device. Grins I decided to build the gearbox housing from steel sheet's slices. I seemed to be easier to manufacture than making it as a casted element.

I had to put it all together and point weld it (I hope you understand) to make it as one piece with covers where I installed motors to.

Of course inside I had to install gears and bearings which I bought and some shafts with rings and other stuff. These I had to make myself. Winke

All is customised so all cardan shafts I had to make myself so as the wheel sets with gears. This I will show in the next post if you are still interested in my small polish railway models manufacturing in scale of 1:32. Winke

Dear Jacek

Great design and great work.

This model building thread is amazing.

Do you fill the gearbox with a lubrication grease?

would be great to see and read more of your projects

Thanks a lot. Grins
Yes, I use chemically neutral technical vaseline. I modified a little both covers of the gear box to have an greasing holes to be able to grease the box without taking it out of the locomotive.
This will be my next project. Details are already "under production". Winke I mean laser cutting and photoetching. But I have also 5 gas tank cars to be finished. Grins

First try if the boggies fit into the frame. It runs on curve of R2300mm but I prefer R3000mm which is the best for my models. I make them according to manufacturer's documemts so it also needs more realistic rail tracks. Grins

And the pantographs type AKP-4E commonly used on polish railway.

Hi Jacek,

your skills and results in railway model building I am admiring too. All very well done - congratulation Ausruf

Additionally your multiple short videos showing us the movements of the different parts – awesome.

Any possibilty for you to give your beasts a longer ride Frage Would be great if you could let them run e.g. during exhibitions and take some movies there too, right ?

Enjoy & best,

Bob Kellerman (aka Kellerbahner)

Thanls a lot. First of all I would like to go for some exhibition of 1:32 scale but in Poland there are just 2 people- me and Adam Borysiak who builds in Spur 1. So we do not have any layuots, etc. Travel with all of my stuff somewhere outside Poland is not that easy for me. Sexond thing is that my models are scale models and can run only with original couplers and on curves 3000mm minimum. So I would have to go with everything what is almost impossible.

Awesome models and skills!!

Thats exactly the concept i wanna use for my loco.

Also with an arrangement like that you can use sensored brushless motors.

I recently found a 2-gear gearbox from an 1:10 crawler that would fit for stuff like that.

Really really awesome work man!

Thanks a lot. All that you see here is my invention. Also gearbox. I will use it for my next 2 locomotive projects. Probably last ones. After that I focus on wagons.

After 13 months of work, sometimes slow, sometimes more intense, I finished project of a model of modern locomotive E6ACT-008 Dragon in Lotos Kolej livery. Locomotive was designed by Newag Poland and now is produced in version Dragon 2. Model is made in scale 1:32. Below you can see some pictures.

If you are not bored yet you can take a look at some short films with test rides.

Hello Jacek,

great praise, that's a fantastic job.
I have never seen anything like this, especially this fine detail.

The reports also seem to me to reflect the construction time, which is extremely fast.
Absolutely perfect.

The CAD design in 3D seems very complex to me. Which program do you use?

Do you have original blueprints? Or do you use photos?

Please continue.

Please also describe the techniques in more detail, this is very interesting.

Because the result is absolutely perfect.

Best regards.

The design process was about 1 year with detailing and manufacture took me about 13 month but not constant every day work. Winke
All model is made of brass which was laser cut according to my project. Some elements are 3D printed, some are brass casted and very precise parts are photo etched. All elements are soldered, very few are glued.

I also make my own driving system based on cardan shafts which I make also myself.

I had complete documentation of the locomotive provided by manufacturer in 2014.
I use Inventor for the design.

Hello Jacek,

Inventor is a very nice tool for such work.

Do you also manufacture parts at home on your own machines? Or do you have all parts manufactured externally?

I think that's the right way. Development and design on the computer and outsource many parts of the production. it gets more precise and you can move forward much faster.

For my model, I also want to get into the full 3D construction of the tent. The advantages are simply too great, even if it seems complex to use the CAD programs at the beginning.

Have you ever thought about starting a company that builds the models in series?

These images are always impressive, you always discover something new. Very beautiful.

Best regards.

Parts that can be made on lathe yes, rest is made externally. I have only simple tools and a small lathe.

Yes, it is. Previous models I made were 100% hand made.

Yes, and my answer is no. It is not fun then when you do it for somebody else not for yourself. I did some time ago 15 advertisement models of locomotives in 1:32 and it was not fun.

congratulations Ausruf

Firstly to your nice videos, secondly for your new amazing ´beast´ and thirdly that you got it, what I asked over a year ago:
Zitat:

Any possibilty for you to give your beasts a longer ride Would be great if you could let them run e.g. during exhibitions and take some movies there too, right ?

And you now did it ! top

Even your carpet railroad got longer til 3:03 but then … railroading is fun for old and young (3:23) ! ja

Check your private message mail-in, you will find two additional potential alternatives suggested Cool .

Thanks and enjoy !
